The older woman dressed in red, white and yellow turned as the door to the elevator behind her dinged open, a small smile on her face. There was a tall girl behind her who was dressed in a jacket and jeans with cerulean-blue headphones on with a yellow belt holding three small Ranger Pokeballs, and a rather large cat-like Pokemon beside her, looking at Louis with his crimson eyes in curiosity and both slight hostility.
"Is this the boy you were talking about, Wolfy?" The woman asked the girl over her petite shoulder.
"Yup, that's 'im. Ciris spotted 'im while we were flyin' 'bove the Ranger Center, said he was headed f'er us. We foll'erd 'im f'er a bit, learned 'is name was Louis Fo-somethin'. That's 'bout all I know of 'im." She replied in a thick country accent, crossing one combat boot over the other while putting her hands on her hips.

He observed both of their appearances and then at the large Pokemon. It was amazed at the Pokemon. He had never seen one like it around Undella Town.
"Whoa! What kinda Pokemon is that? I don't travel a lot through Unova so I haven't seen a lot of Pokemon.", he asked amazed by the large Pokemon.
"Oh, hi Wolfy. And you must be Elder Hawk, am I right?", he asked the nice lady.
"I have my application right here. Please look it over carefully.", he said, handing the older lady the Ranger Application.

"'Ey." The girl replied as the older woman nodded kindly, waving the boy over. "This is m'ah Luxray, Charge. He's from Sinnoh. You can pet 'im if ya wanna, but he might shock ya. Just a warnin'." She petted the Electric Lion's large head softly as he growled slightly at the boy while he neared his partner. "Down, Charge."
Elder Hawk gratefully took the boy's application, flipping through the pages thoughtfully. "It says here that you like Houndour, yes?" She looked at him with forest-green eyes that seemed Celebi's wisdom and power could be in their emerald depths.

"Uh... Okay, I suppose. He doesn't seem to like me Wolfy.", he said with unsteady voice. He looked down at the large Pokemon with yellow and blue fur and Charge gave him a weird look.
"Yes. I got one just recently from Undella. It's not common you find a Pokemon from the Johto or Kanto region. I didn't find out much about him when a stranger gave him to me, but I know he's different from many Pokemon. He doesn't like being confined. Here he is right now.", he said and opened the flap on his white messenger bag. His bag seemed kind of lumpy, and this was the reason for that. "His name is Ace.", he said as the Houndour made a little friendly growl.

Baylee, known by Wolfy to most, cocked an eyebrow as well as Elder Hawk when the Houndour's head poked out from the bag. "You'll need a Reanger Pokeball for him." The eldest said as she turned to a large bag on a picknick table not far from her, and steadily walked over to it. She waved Louis over, once again, as she opened the bag and pulled out three Pokeballs, all white with a blue winded circle on the top, and a red and yellow striped bottom. "Put him in One of these; if he already comes with a Pokeball, this will replace it. It's specially made by Ranger Mechanics at the Ranger Union. Oh, and by the way, you're approved." She smiled slightly as the Houndour barked approvingly.

"Oh, alright, I suppose.", he said unsure and took all the pokeballs. He placed them neatly into his bag and took one of the pokeballs out. "Ace, return.", he said and held the Pokeball in his hand. The houndour made a little growl. He could tell Ace didn't want to return, but he always obeyed him. He flashed into the Ranger Pokeball. "Shouldn't Charge be in a Pokeball?", he asked politely to the lady. "And thank you for the acceptance!", he said with a big grin on his face.

Wolfy smiled as she began to firmly pet her Pokemon's head. "Well, he's the Partner Pokemon I'm usin' f'er the moment. I might change 'im out durin' a mission with Auran or Ciris; 'Pends on the situation."
The Elder nodded with a smile. "Yes, yes; You are allowed to have up to three Partner Pokemon with you at a time. Usually, one of them stays by the trainer. Wolfy's Luxray there, Charge, is who she usually uses, but Ciris is good for transportation while Auran is used for his wisdom. He has Telepathy, so he tends to talk to Wolfy to help her out in tough situations.
"Oh!" She clapped her hands together thoughtfully. "I almost forgot! We have to do your capture test!"

"Am I allowed to use a partner Pokemon? Ace is my favorite, after all.", he asked looking envious that Wolfy had one of her three favortie Pokemon by her side. His Houndour was always with him at all times, but he wanted it to be out. The Houndour wasn't used to being in a Pokeball but if those were the rules, then that's how it had to stay.

Elder Hawk began to point her index finger up, shaking it somewhat. "I've got it! The receptionist gave you a Student Styler, correct? Release Ace for a moment, and capture him with the Styler. I'm sure you know how to do that, since you are applying to be a ranger."

"Alright, no problem.", he said. He pressed the button in the middle of the Pokeball and out came Houndour in a flash. He took out his Ranger Styler. He shot out a capture disc that spun around the Houndour. A flash of light came as the disc spun around the Houndour. "There we go.", he said. He looked at Elder Hawk with approval awaiting an answer.

"Hm, could use some work..." She stated as she looked as Houndour ran up to Louis, pouncing him, making the teen fall down as the Pokemon licked his face. She laughed, "But it worked. Congratulations; You're now an official Unova Ranger!"
Wolfy laughed slightly as Charge nodded, now gaining a small -- extremely small -- place of respect for the new Ranger. "Awesome! A New Ranger! Now, all we hav'ta do is promote you t'ah Top Ranger, like me, and we'll be equals!" She laughed.

"Gah! Off me Ace!", he said laughing while at the same time getting a little flame from Ace's mouth. "Thank-you! I won't let you down. I promise", he said giving her a big, cheesy grin.
"So I'm guessing we can be good friends.", he said cheerfully only to get a growl from the Luxray. "Yeah, he doesn't like me very much, I think......", said and stepped away from the Luxray.
Then, Houndour was back in his messenger bag.

Baylee began to laugh heartily, "I reckon Charge 'ere doesn' like anyone, human nor Pokemon! Took 'im ages t'ah get used t'ah Auran and Ciris!" She grinned.
The Elder gave a small chuckle. "As you can see, some Partner Pokemon are a bit more protective than others of their... 'property'."

"Well, if we become close friends, then maybe he will get used to me... Er... Maybe not. Hahaha", he said knowing that the Luxray would never like him.
"Yeah, I do. Luxray is very protective. While on the other hand, Ace here isn't. He can protect me, but he's always nice to people.", he said to the lady as he petted the Houndour on the head.
"So where's my room?", he said curious of where he would sleep. Everything was so new. So different. But better.

"Oh, yes, yes!" Elder Hawk smiled as she reached into her purse again. "You'll be taking residence in Dorm C1 on the Fourth Level." She handed the small piece of paper and a key to the boy. "Once we get a few more Rangers, you may get a roommate. If you do, we will report the fact to you. Feel free to decorate your side however you want. Though, if you break anything, you pay for the repairs o the new one. Okay?" She gave him a sharp warning glance.
